5 Effective Ways To Increase Reader’s Loyalty On Your Blog

Filed Under (Blog Lessons, Content, Make Money With Your Blog) by Jon Hook on 14-08-2008

Seems like almost everyone has a blog these days.  A lot of profitable niches have developed, and it’s no secret that blogging is big business.  With so much competition in nearly every area, you have to pay attention and be proactive to ensure that you get your share of the market.  Do you know how to increase reader loyalty on your blog?  Can you develop a site that puts you ahead of the rest and gives people a reason to return?

Make Reading Your blog A Habit They Can’t Shake

It may seem obvious, but the most important thing that you can do to endear yourself to your readers is to give them a steady supply of great, original content.  That means plenty of entertainment and value packed into an easy to read format. Don’t forget to make your words positive.  Negativity turns people off and readers away.  If you can perfect all that, you’ll turn the blog reader into a junkie for your words.  They won’t be able to resist coming back for more.

Feed The Habit

Once you get those repeat returns, don’t ignore them!  Use your brilliant copy to encourage comments, and be sure that you respond.  Answer any questions posed, and make a remark or two about notes left.  Don’t forget to thank anyone who takes the time and trouble to leave a few words.  Make sure your loyal followers know that you appreciate them, and they’ll respond in kind.

Get Them Addicted

Another way to give your readers warm, fuzzies about you and your blog is to link to them.  Allow hyperlinking of their name, have a sidebar list of recent visitors with the hyperlinked name, or if appropriate, occasionally incorporate a reader’s link into your copy, making sure that you do it in such a way that it makes sense, of course.  Your popularity will skyrocket with readers who will feel like they’re part of your ‘club’.    You’ll have spotlighted them and made them feel important.  That’s like gluing a person to your blog.

Seal A Bonus Deal

If you want to go one step further, then surprise your loyal readers by visiting their blogs or sites and leaving comments.  You may even want to invite some of the more talented folks to submit a guest post.  You’ll be building relationships that will last a long time, assuming you continue good care.

Get The Word Out

It probably goes without saying, but make it easy for people to sign up for email alerts.  You’ve gone to all the trouble of making a really good blog and taking good care of those who read it, so now encourage them to leave their names and email addresses in a simple and easy to find form.  Let them know that their life will be made simpler by taking a second to go to the trouble.  Every time you post a new entry, they will receive a notification in their inbox, complete with handy link back to your blog.  Initially, if it’s a new blog, you may only get a few, but if you’re providing a really good, useful read, the numbers will continue to grow and grow.

Not all people are into using RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds yet, but it’s a good idea to make the option available for those who aren’t shy to use it and for those who dislike signing up for emails.  You may still get some of the traffic with the feed button that would otherwise be missed.  As it is automatic and time saving, there will be some for whom this quick method will be perfect.

So, now you know how to increase reader loyalty on your blog.  If you follow the suggestions in this article, you will have a dedicated group of readers who will support you for a long time to come.
Happy blogging!

Blogs – Make Money Out Of Thin Air

Filed Under (Blogging, Content, Make Money With Your Blog) by Jon Hook on 28-07-2008

Often most people around us don’t understand why there is such huge fuss about this thing called Blogs. In fact most of who have even heard of blogs don’t realize its full potential. Blogs are great money making machines and even you can make a lot of money by blogging. Don’t believe me? Well you’ll believe what I am going to tell you here below.

A blog is just like a website but with a few limitations. There is a limit on the size of the material you can upload, there are fewer fancy things that you can do to your blog etc. But all this is simply immaterial. A blog is basically something where you can showcase your talent, discuss an issue with people or just express yourself.

You must have seen advertisements on various websites and also on the various sites like msn.com, yahoo.com and just about every popular site. But why? I know it might sound foolish to a few when I ask why, but it is very important to understand why somebody chose to promote his or her product through a website. It is not just because they want to promote their product but also because the website through which they are promoting their product has a huge visitor base and a good name amongst netizens.

All these websites are no longer sticking to the pay per click advertising model but have adopted a fixed fee model. So if you are popular in your community, professional or social circle, even you can start blogging and make money through advertising.

But don’t start dreaming of a million dollar mansion right now. There’s much more left to do. A blog is popular only as long as you keep it alive and abuzz with activity. You need to keep updating the content every now and then, answer the questions that people put forward, participate in debates and/or start new ones. You must be able to deliver some value to the reader who takes time to visit your blog and make sure that they return back to keep your blog making money for you.

Most of the advertisers will be reluctant initially because they want to be sure if you really have a loyal visitor base. But over a period of time if you can manage to keep your visitor base strong and loyal, you’ll win over the confidence of the advertisers and then you can directly get in touch with them and ask them to advertise on your site for a weekly or a monthly fee. But it does not mean that you cannot make money in the meantime.

While your blog is still in the nascent stage you can get in touch with Google Adsense and ask them place ads on your blog. These ads will bring income on pay per click (ppc) basis. So whenever somebody will click on the advertisement on your blog Google will get some money for it. In turn because the revenue has come through your blog and efforts Google will pay you a part of it.

One thing that you must always take care of while blogging is that you must know your subject well because just one wrong or misinformed comment can often be all that it’ll take to shoo away all your readers and followers. Also make sure that your readers can always freely ask you questions about the subject that you are blogging about. And when you are trying to find advertisers for your blog the best ones would be those who will derive some value out of it. So if you are talking about some topic related to pest prevention at home, a pest control company would most easily pay you for advertisement.

Get The Most Out Of Your Blog

Blogging is the day’s buzzword and you really need to get on the blogging train if you want to make some cool cash in a small time. Are you interested in finding out how you can make the most out of your blog? Keep reading then.

A blog is basically a space where you can write and post whatever you like. You can pick up a social issue like the condition of people in Africa or environmental issues like global warming. You can also share some recipes with people or just write about your personal life or some experiences. A blog is a place with literally thousands of possibilities. You just have to take a step ahead and create your own possibility.

If you are really passionate about something then your first hurdle towards effective blogging has been eliminated. Now all that you have to do is to register yourself on any of the blogging websites like wordpress etc., find a name that is available and relevant to your topic of discussion and start writing about it.

But what you write must be quality matter and not gibberish; it should attract the reader, give him or her some valuable insights into the topic being discussed and make them come back to you for again with even more visitors. Easier said than done, wouldn’t you say? Well, I totally agree but then this is how it is done. There are a certain things that you can do here and there to make this task a bit easier and get better results and return for the time that you have invested.

The first step is that your blog’s name should reflect the topic that you are blogging about. So if you are discussing about paintings, then don’t name it ‘Paula’s blog’ or ‘Scott’s blog’ etc. keep the name relevant like ‘paintingsworld’ or ‘paintingbazaar’ etc. These names will give an interested reader the first glimpse into what your blog is about.

The second thing that you must do is to pen down a few points. These should be about what all topics that you’ll discuss about paintings and what all you will avoid touching on. Once you have done that it is time to start writing a few articles. Write something about yourself, a little bio of sorts. Write about your experience in the field etc. Now once you have a short intro of yourself and a few articles ready, it is time to start posting articles. Post two or three articles everyday for a few days.

Now if you have a few people reading your material and posting comments it is time to sign up with Google AdSense. They will then place ads on your blog and every time a visitor clicks on these ads you get paid a commission. These commissions are then paid out on a weekly or a monthly basis.

Also you must ensure that the content that you have uploaded is Search Engine Optimized (SEO). You can always take the help of a professional in this regard so that your blog gets a higher ranking in the Google search engine. Also, when you setup your blog on Wordpress, you get a major advantage which is not available  on most of the other blogging sites.

At Wordpress you have the option of uploading or rather to say saving many articles at a time while publishing just a few every day. This way you don’t have to login and post new content every day. It also keeps the content on your blog from becoming stale thus keeping your visitor base loyal. It also helps in saving time because you have to write all the articles just at once and then they’ll automatically keep getting posted.

The Secret To Getting Indexed In Hours By All The Major Search Engines

Filed Under (Blog Lessons, Blogging, Blogging Tools, Content, RSS, Website Promotion) by Jon Hook on 12-07-2006

For all of us who make a living from internet marketing, driving traffic to our sites is one of the most important activities we do on a daily basis. There are some definite steps that can be taken to speed up the process of getting indexed as well as proper domain name registration. I am going to give a quick outline here on how to go about this step by step using the latest tactics to your site indexed in hours instead of weeks.

The first thing that you have to do is be sure that you have a viable domain name; by viable I mean one that will make you money. It’s cool to have your own name as a domain and I recommend that everyone do it, but that isn’t generally going to make you money unless your name happens to be Bill Gates or Warren Buffet. It is absolutely crucial to choose domain names that contain the keywords you want to rank well for. It blows by mind how people will use abbreviations and such and expect to get good rankings easily. If you are doing a site on articles, the keyword articles should be in it like 500articles.com. This research is crucial, to see the tools I recommend seeing my resource box at the bottom of the article.

Secondly, when you build your site regardless of whether it is a static site or a blog your title needs to have your main key words in it. So be sure that your site does not say, “Welcome to Homer’s website” or whatever, get my drift? If you are doing a website on karaoke for example, your title should have words like karaoke, karaoke music, karaoke songs, etc. Only put in the top four words that you want to rank for. This is a mistake I see made daily. Either there is no relevant title at all or the title is stuffed with so many keywords that it is watered down and will never rank well. For the exact way that your title should read, contact me or see more at the link below.

In order to be indexed quickly you have to let the internet world know that your site exists and you need to do it in a rapid fashion. Once you have your site or blog up and have content of some kind on it you need to be getting attention to it. I am going to let you in on a secret here that many people are not taking advantage of and I have tested it with no other method of promoting so I know it works. If you haven’t heard of tag and ping then you need to listen up. Tagging certain keywords is one of the fastest ways that you can get your site listed. If you aren’t doing this you are wasting precious time.

I will give you an example without giving away the name of my site. I just put up a Wordpress blog on July 7th in a fairly high traffic niche. I wanted to test the method I am speaking of so I did no article marketing like I normally do, and didn’t even put any regular content on it. I used an automated blog posting tool and set it up to post “quality” RSS feeds on my topic. Now, pay attention because it is what I did next that is crucial. I put technorati tags in the tool for keywords I wanted linking to my site. I set for the initial posting of four times a day, it was indexed by Yahoo and the Google blog search engine within two hours and in Google’s main index the next day!

Now that I know for a fact that this works I will begin my normal method for driving traffic which is writing articles and submitting them to all the major article directories. I highly recommend Article Marketer for this. It is not expensive and it makes it simple for you to submit your articles to thousands of ezine and article directory owners.

This is not a difficult thing to accomplish and if you are serious about your internet marketing business there are certain tools that I think you cannot be without. Some of them are brand new and have just come out that have made my life a lot easier and have saved me a ton of time allowing me to build more sites and write more articles. I am willing to share the names of those resources with you, so take advantage of it.

The first thing that you have to do is do your keyword research, in my opinion the best possible source for keywords is through a membership site I belong to called Keyword Avalanche because not only do you get access to Nichebot.com from Jim Morris, but you also have access to the members forum where guys like, Jim, Scott Standke and others who make well over 20k a month share with you what they are doing to make it. Check it out at:

Keyword Avalanche

They have also just released a website building tool for building totally whitehat SEO websites using articles that works phenomenally well. As a matter of fact the first one I built was indexed within a couple of days and all I did was create and RSS feed for it and submit to RSS directories! Hardly anyone know about this yet as it was developed in our private membership site!

SEO smArticle Composer

The brand new just released tool I am using to save me hours of research is this one:

Domain Suggestion Tool

The way that you need to have your title set up with your keywords is like this:

Onpage Optimization

*** *** and do no more than four keywords. The way that you make that character is buy pressing shift and the backslash key above your enter key. Put no ands or commas, only your keywords.

Next as far as technorati tags go I am going to give you a brief insight into how to do them, but if you want a detailed manual as well as software to help then you need to get the program from Tag and Ping at:
Tag and Ping

Go to technorati and set up an account. If you already have blogs it will allow you to “claim them”, I would do this. Now, for the tags. You can put the tags directly in your posts or you can do as I suggested and put it on auto pilot by using the tool I use here:

RSS2Blog Version 4

To tag a keyword for technorati to link it back to your site use the following:

*****http://technorati.com/tag/YOURKEYWORD” rel=”tag”>YOUR KEYWORD****

Like this:

****http://technorati.com/tag/gregg+hall” rel=”tag”>gregg hall****
The next thing to do is drive traffic to your site with articles. If you aren’t good at writing articles then I will give you some resources where you can get PLR articles that you can rewrite below. The link for Article Marketer is here:

As far as sites where you can get PLR Articles, Keyword Avalanche also gives you 300 articles per month as part of their service, the link is above for them. Others I use are below:

This is my own personal PLR article program. You will receive at least 10 articles a day plus tons of bonuses just for joining up.
